We caught what we'd like to believe was the president of Peru (okay, more likely the regional president) reviewing the troops in the Plaza de Armas in Cuzco one morning. Milka got really close with his camera - love the last image.
The crowd, the reverent honor, the seriousness, the crisp marching and the beauty of the event was remarkable. We should be so lucky a country as to treat the military like awe-inspiring rock stars.
p.s. Things really got interesting when a Socialist demonstration paraded in complete with Che posters - we're talking riot police involvement. A perfect South America moment.
